Mission Statement Located in Soquel, California on five acres overlooking Monterey Bay, Camphill Communities California is a residential care community for adults with developmental disabilities. 
An interdependent community, in which caregivers who are volunteers live and work in extended family settings with those with special needs, promotes social cooperation between individuals of different abilities. Such cooperation creates a rich cultural, social and vocational life, which includes opportunities for all to celebrate and learn. It seeks to support the unfolding of individual development on the basis of a social context that emphasizes giving as well as receiving. 

Camphill Communities California provides residential, vocational, social, recreational and cultural services to meet the individual and collective needs of residents. Activities include baking, fiber arts, gardening, art, music, recreational and social excursions, cultural and community events and ongoing training in life skills and communication.
Volunteer Duties Care-giving for adults with disabilities, assist with various arts and communication activities as well as gardening. 

TB test and fingerprinting required. Possible background check. Tours at the residential community take place first Thursday of the month at 11 am. This gives the possible volunteers an opportunity to get to know the community and get information on the volunteering opportunities.
