Mission Statement | In the soil of our urban farm and garden, people find the tools they need to build a home in the world. The Homeless Garden Project provides job training, transitional employment and support services to people who are homeless. In complement, the Project operates a vibrant community education and volunteer program that serves as many as 2500 people annually. The programs take place on a 3.5-acre organic farm and related enterprises. |
Volunteer Duties | Come get involved in the Santa Cruz community and volunteer with HGP! Depending on the time of year, we have multiple volunteer opportunities with varying schedules and required commitments. During the summer, we invite volunteers to participate in drop-in hours at our farm location. We also work with volunteers to run our Downtown store enterprises. Volunteers greet customers, answer questions, ring up and wrap items, restock shelves, and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Shifts are typically 2-4 hours. In addition, we work with volunteers in the office with data entry and non-profit administration, as well as tabling, event coordination, graphic designing and marketing. Please contact Justin if you are interested in completing an internship with HGP. |
