Mission Statement | Since 1976 RCNV staff and members have successfully worked to make the practice of nonviolence a means of affecting personal change and creating a more just, peaceful and sustainable world. RCNV takes seriously the admonition to think globally and act locally. We endeavor to introduce nonviolent methodology into the work of local government institutions and community organizations. Three former staff members have served on the Santa Cruz City Council and both served as mayor. Many members have served as officers on local global peace and social justice organizations. |
Volunteer Duties |
We welcome volunteer and Intern involvement in our programs: Kingian Nonviolence Training, Santa Cruz County Poor People's Campaign, Project ReGen youth empowerment- engaging the next generation of activists, Selma Alabama cultural exchange, Palestine Justice Coalition, racial and economic justice, art of nonviolence exhibits, Nonviolent Voices KSQD radio show, and more. |
Notes |
As a volunteer or intern, you may want to work on one of the above programs, sharing your ideas and learning through experience. Or you may have an interest in some other social justice issue and, with the help of a staff member, plan a project to impact that issue. Updated 5/8/2020 |
