The Oceanseed Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit institution located in Capitola, California which aims to teach children knowledge and awareness about environmental sustainability, economic prosperity, and social justice. They are able to do this through the programs they offer such as mentoring, field-studies, or research they conduct. Program participants learn from science-based educational curriculum and learn collaboration and critical thinking skills. They are available to all children and schools and make it a point for their programs to be accessible for even to the most marginalized communities. One of the program’s goals is to connect Oceanseed program participants with academic experts, business leaders, and civic leaders. They are funded through the donations, grants, and gifts of various individuals and organizations.
