Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is an affiliate of Planned Parenthood, which spans across California and Nevada. Their transparency with providing health helps to further assist those uncertain about various domains of knowledge such as sexual health, family planning, and adult general care. This resource center bolsters principles of health care, education, and advocacy through their services and programs for the community.

They offer various services such as birth control, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, prenatal care, abortion, adult general care, breast and cervical cancer screening, pediatrics, well-baby care, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, HIV testing, and sterilization. Planned Parenthood Mar Monte also offers specific resources to help guide teenages through unfamiliar areas of sexual health, relationships and health services. Transgender hormone services are also offered through Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, including Male to Female Hormone Therapy and Female to Male Hormone Therapy options.

Additionally, they work to provide educational services to the community. Education programs include Community Outreach events put on at youth-friendly sites, recovery centers, homeless shelters, group homes, etc., Teen Success Inc., which is a geared toward assisting young mothers with navigating through achieving a high school degree and challenges of young mothers, and even Teen Talk, which focuses on teaching at-risk girls how to build self-esteem. Planned Parenthood Mar Monte also offers training in compliance with the California Healthy Youth Act of 2016, which requires public schools to teach comprehensive sexual health and HIV prevention education. Training goes over all FDA‐approved methods of preventing pregnancy, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and as well as abstinence. It must also include information about HIV, pregnancy, sexual harassment, sexual assault, healthy relationships, and sex trafficking, as well as local resources for accessing care and students’ rights to access care. Also, the training focuses on integrating sources regarding different sexual orientations while recognizing same‐sex relationships, and gender, gender expression, and gender identity.
